IMMIGRANT

I am an immigrant, landless and identity less
no country, no citizenship and nowhere to go
The country of my birth repulsed me
saying 'menace to national security.'

'Love for freedom and democracy'
the biggest crime - I committed
I was a threat to dictatorship
who is detested with "freedom" and "liberty"
and a new land adopted me
being messiah of an innocent man
on "human rights" ground.

Milked me, milked me and milked me
in my creative young age
and now with new rule I am driven out
no home, no place, no friends
nowhere to go in my old age
oh UN! tell me, where is my country?
where should I go?

I must have somewhere to step in
That is my basic of the basic rights
“To whom shall I tell my grief?”
